There is so many new and exciting things in Pigeon Forge this spring that your head might spin trying to take it all in. First up is the largest expansion in Dollywood history with Wildwood Grove, where adventure takes root and dreams take flight! This massive new section will feature new rides, such as the DragonFlier, Mad Mockingbird and TreeTop Tower. This is all built around the Wildwood Tree, which is bedecked with a collection of butterflies dancing colorfully in the breeze. The gnarled bark of the tree is subtly carved with oversized musical instruments, as if music rises from its very soul. Walk along the Hidden Hollow and enjoy the Wildwood Creek with Benjamin Bear, Franklin Frog and the ambassadors Flit and Flutter at the all new Wildwood Grove, only at Dollywood. Not to be outdone, Dolly Parton’s theater offering is expanding with the all new Dolly Parton’s Pirate Voyage. This water spectacular is slated to open in spring of 2019 and will boast a 21,000 square foot arena, where Crimson and Sapphire pirates battle from the deck to the waters and the sky above their full-sized pirate ship. Acrobatic competitions, live animals and original music scored by Dolly herself creates an immersive adventure experience that accompanies a five-course pirate feast. The Pirates Voyage will be located adjacent to the Island on the Parkway in Pigeon Forge! Speaking of the Island in Pigeon Forge, they have welcomed Yeehaw Brewing Company to the Great Smoky Mountains with their brand-new tap room. There you can sample a mix of the finest ales and lagers, including the World Beer Cup award-winning Dunkel, as well as exciting seasonal and high gravity beers. It is just one more reason to visit the Island in Pigeon Forge during your trip to the Smokies. Next up is the National Enquirer Attraction, opening in spring on the Parkway directly across from the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge. The 18,000 square foot building will have guests entering through a camera lens, and then are treated with featured exhibits from the tabloids storied history, as well as interactive exhibits that allow guests to create their own Enquirer-style headlines that can be shared on social media. If you have ever perused the publication while in the check-out line, this unique behind the scenes trip into the world of celebrity gossip and lavish headlines is just the place for you. Rounding out the new additions to Pigeon Forge is a brand-new eatery at the Gaucho Urabano Brazilian Steakhouse, located just off the Parkway at 111 Valley Drive, where you can eat your fill of traditional Brazilian cuisine. It is the first restaurant of its kind in the smokies. If you are in the mood for brunch, the Brick & Spoon offers a southern experience for anyone who loves an upscale breakfast, brunch or lunch.
