The cooler days of fall are here but the events in Sevierville are just heating up. Starting out our featured events is a couple of meet and greets at Smoky Mountain Knifeworks. On September 26th the Kershaw Duck Commander Weekend will bring out Duck Dynasty star Jep Roberston to showcase the Duck Dynasty line of knives. Free autographs and a meet and greet session will be available on a first come first serve basis. They will also have door prizes and other giveaways. Come early because there is a limited number of folks who will be able to meet Jep On October 16 - 18 the Bushcraft Survival Weekend will bring in special guest Dave Canterbury from Discovery Channels hit show Dual Survival He and other instructors from their Pathfinder Survival School will teach you survival and bush crafting techniques from making fire to catching food and much more. All age groups and families are welcome to both events. On October 1 Smokies Stadium will get a double dose of rock when Lynyrd Skynyrd takes the stage with Bret Michaels opening the show Michaels will take the stage at about 730 and doors will open at 530 You can buy tickets at the stadium and all Knoxville ticket outlets. This big fall show is one that fans of classic rock will NOT want to miss Rounding out our featured events for the fall is STOMP Out Breast Cancer. On October 17 put on your pink and come down to Hillside Winery to have fun and help raise money for the American Cancer Society Enjoy three of the five wineries that make up the Rocky Top Wine Trail as you depart from Hillside Winery and walk to the Apple Barn Winery and then onto Mountain Valley Winery. Enjoy sampling of wines stomping grapes music dancing and helping a worthy cause. Tickets are 25 each and include lunch goodies and a chance at amazing door prizes. There is also a silent auction. For tickets call 1-877-687-7622. This fall construction will be wrapping up on a brand new 14- screen movie theater in Sevierville. The massive theater complex will be the second movie theater in the county and will by far be the largest They will feature stadium seating and at least five 3-D screens and XL Extreme sound systems and it is rumored that some of the screens will offer high back rocking chairs and luxury recliners. The theater is located in Governors Crossing just behind Rainforest Adventures Discovery Zoo and is scheduled to open its doors in November. Also opening this fall is a brand new shopping center on Hwy. 66Winfield Dunn Parkway. The new center will have about 11 retailers including Dicks Sporting Goods Hobby Lobby Pet Smart Ulta Cosmetics Ross and more. The stores are scheduled to begin opening this fall with some of the larger retailers opening their doors followed by other stores shortly after.
