The Autumn events are falling into place in Pigeon Forge and we have a few featured events that you might want to check out. Starting us off is a couple of staples every fall in the Forge First up is the Shades of the Past Rod Run from Sept. 11 - 12. Roll on into Dollywoods Splash Country for this roundup of over 200 hot rods competing for the grand prizes consisting of a 1932 Ford Hi-Boy Roadster and a 10000 cash prize. Spectators can take part for only 10 per day to roam the grounds and take a look at all of the hot rods or find a deal in the giant swap meet. That is followed by the Pigeon Forge Fall Rod Run formerly known as the Grand from Sept. 17 - 19. Automotive enthusiasts from all over come to town for the areas largest automotive event. The Rod Run will be returning to the LeConte Center at Pigeon Forge this year making room for even more show cars vendors and entertainment. If you love cars these are two weekends that you cannot miss. Dolly Partons Dixie Stampede Childrens Annual Whoadeo will be held this year on Sept. 26 at Dixie Stampede. Featuring a stick horse competition a carnival and free refreshments this event is a festival for children ages 3 -12. This is not your typical rodeofor more information call 1-800-356- 1676. On October 31 you can spend your Halloween at The Island. From 530 - 930 this free event will offer tons of things to do including free hay rides spooky storytelling a kids circus a costume contest candy stations at every store and countless Halloween surprises. In its 3rd year Halloween at the Island has become a very fast favorite for locals and visitors to the area as well. Pigeon Forge is welcoming some exciting new attractions this fall. The Bear Country Fun Park is located at 4061 Parkway and offers the Big Bear Go-kart Track Blaster Boats the Country Carousel Cubs Country and the Country Barn Arcade. With tons of rides games and go-karts this is a fantastic brand new addition to Pigeon Forge. Look for the racing bear and prepare for some family fun The Hollywood Wax Museum is easy to spot with King Kong climbing the outside of the building right on the Parkway. But they have added yet another attraction to their impressive list of fun with Outbreak - Dread the Undead. This year round thrill attraction offers a high energy haunted walk-through experience filled with hordes of the undead. Join in as a military experiment goes terribly wrong and turns the research staff into zombies that must be stopped. Can you survive The Island in Pigeon Forge just keeps on adding more and more impressive aspects. This fall they have the Island Ropes Course featuring two different courses to choose from. Enjoy nine different elements while you are safely harnessed into a sling line and carabineers. Two zip lines and a simulated free fall Quick Jump make this a one of a kind experience Also on The Island is The Escape Game This new concept is a real life adventure game designed for small groups of 2 - 8 people.
